On behalf of Corunna Minor Athletic Association, I would like to extend our sincere gratitude and thanks for your continued cooperation, patience, and support for this past ball season.2020 is a year many of us will never forget.
2020 is a year many of us will never forget. In a time when there was not much up-side we, unfortunately,
were unable to lift the spirits of our youth and provide the sport they love to play.
As you know, in early April, one of our equipment storage units was broken into and most of the contents were stolen.
It was a huge hit to our association. It victimized our club with complete disregard for our community.
And of course, Covid-19 struck all of us without discrimination. It affected our homes, our families, our workplace, and lifestyles.
It also attacked the association’s operating costs hard. Refunding 80% of our registration while still committed to purchasing uniforms and equipment for the upcoming season has not come without future financial strain. Thankfully, it is on account of our sponsors, donors, members, and volunteers that we will overcome any burden.
We can see 2020 also did something the vandals could never steal from us, something Covid could never take from us. It showed us the expanse of our Minor Ball Family; it showed the strength of our minor ball family!
The community outrage from the burglary that happened amid a pandemic overwhelmed us and provided confidence we were all in this together.
Preparations have now begun for 2021 and we call on you once again… We need your time!
The Association Board of Directors must fill several important board roles moving forward. It is these behind the scenes volunteers that keep our association functioning year-round.
Stay tuned to the website and social media for this new Leadership group to put the shadows of 2020 behind us and communicate the direction for 2021.
We once again thank you for your support, your commitment to our club, and above all your membership. Corunna Minor thrives on the sponsorships and donations from our community, but it lives because of its members!
We wish you the best possible winter. Stay safe, have fun and happy returns to next season!
CMAA would also like to thank those board members who have hung up their cleats. With out your hard work, passion and dedication to our community, Corunna Minor Baseball would never have been able to given our community, our youth an incredible experience. Good luck to those not returning on your next adventure!
